Koh Lanta at night

We all meet up every night at the Ting Tong Bar, which is part of the Lanta Emerald. So that's were we get drunk for the 3 nights we're staying here. Awesome people working there. Especially Toffee (His "Oh, yiieaaaahhhhh" was stuck in our heads at least till the end of our trip), who played some local songs for us, when neither Ben nor Bertus were up on stage performing.

One night we have a karaoke night. I remember Keisha being the first to go up and sing...wow...she is amazing. I prefer to make a deal with Jen, Tara, Laura and Tiff, that whomever name would come up next, we'd all go up there. We do some awful songs...but it is fun anyways. At least for us ;)

Nights usually end at the beach. We just sit down with Ben and Bertus and have a little candle-fire and listen to them. That's the best way a night could possibly end. We even have a crab joining in on that jam session one night...

Second evening here we are playing some fun drinking games. Starting with shotgunning some Chang or Singha.

Next challenge: Beersbee...so much fun. I wonder who made it up...and why it is not a Olympic discipline yet... The aim is to kick the other teams can of a stick by throwing a frisbee. If you manage that, they either have to drink some of their beer or if u do it the best way, they will have to chuck their beer... as soon as it gets really dark, you might probably just start aiming at the other people though...hehe ;)

# MUSIC What I Got by Sublime

This is one of the songs that remind me of listening to Ben and Bertus at the beach, where they sang it.

Koh Lanta at day time

#1 THE PLACE: Koh Lanta is a really chillin' place. There are a couple of other bungalow places along the beach, but all of them are pretty chilled. Before the trip I told some colleague I was going to go here and he was like "Oh, the hippie place". So I kind of expected some wheat-smoking-flower-clothes-wearing-always-happy-but-stuck-in-another-time-people. Except for the flowers and the stuck in another time stuff, that are things I found here, so maybe he was right about that. ;)

#2 THE BEACH: I love walking along the beach here, even though I was confused at first when unknown people started waving at me all smiling. But then I think of South Africa, China and the Philippines, where I experienced this too. In these countries, they just seem to be reeeally nice people, who definitely like to get to know new people and cultures. If I did that in Germany, people would just stare at me and think I'm some kind of a freak.

#3 MASSAGES: Wow, and I got a massage here. It is soooo nice and soooo cheap (300 Baht that's about 6 Euros, about 9 CAD). And I really wonder why I did it just once?? Weird me

#4 LIFE Most of the day we were chilling at the pool, drinking Chang (very yummy Thai beer) and eating amazing Thai food. Only bad thing about the Thai food is, that there is so much, that I never know what I should chose. Yeah...life is hard over here...

#5 RAIN & HAMMOCKS We had some 30-minute-rain one day, but that was just the perfect cause to jump into the hammock. I didn't have mine yet, but who cares... I just jumped into the ones of the others who set them up :) That's the way life should be. :) I love chillin' in the hammock

#5 BEN THE GROUP LEADER
He got marked. I think he should get some extra money for running around with the FREE & EASY logo on his nipple and the F+E shaved into his chest ...

Joining the group on Koh Lanta

I was kind of unsure how the group would accept me and how good enough my English would be to join in with all the Canadians. But worries about nothing. I got to know them pretty fast. We hung out at the pool the rest of the day and played cards when the sun went down and when nighttime arrived I was already partying with them at the Ting Tong Bar at the Lanta Emerald Bungalows...

So it seems like my weird dreams from home luckily did not came true... I dreamed that I came here and all the Canadians jumped into little boats that they turned around, so I would not see them. And then I tried to look for Bertus, but first he wasn't there and then I found him and he just ignored me and wouldn't talk to me...happy that it was just a bad dream and that it's not like that at all :)
