Lipe @ night – An awesome night at Pooh's Bar and Bertus leaves our world
For our last night, we go to Pooh's bar to have barbecue there. It is about 250 Baht (5 Euros, 8 CAD). And it is yummy. :)
After dinner, Ben and Bertus enrich the place by playing and singing some songs. Great music and funny show, as the owner changes their head style all the time. Ben ends up getting the whole Police Volunteer clothes...
Then we move over to the other part of Pooh's bar. For dancing, and some more drinks and just having fun.
This is when Bertus leaves our world for his own world for three days. First he is just combing the hair of every girl while keeping on drinking. Next time I'm paying attention to him, it's up to 5 people plus Oh (the owner of the bar). Sanna already passed out on the cushions, Corn is just passing out int the sand, Bertus keeps on falling off the bench at the bar and then there is Jen and me.
At some point we decide to leave. Jen and me are pretty drunk ourselves, but by trying to figure out how to get all those guys home, we are getting kind of sober ...
We finally make Corn and Sanna walk each other the way back. Jen and me are trying to take care of Bertus and his guitar ... Bertus:"G've me d g'ita' back. I' 's min'!" Jen:"No!" Me:"You will break it. You will get it when we got back" Bertus getting really mad:"G've 't to me! Ican tak' 't! It's m'ne! You hav' norigh' to tak'it 'way fr'm me!" So he gets the guitar. Tries to walk... Decides to give it back to us ...
It takes hours when he tries to walk up that one hill, falling down like every meter. Hehe... looks funny, but then I start to feel bad just looking at him trying to walk, that I rather help him ignoring that he doesn't want me to.
While making our way back he keeps on falling down and the beach dogs are running up to him and licking his face every time he does. So he starts to get so mad at the dogs, trying to run after them, yelling at them and trying to kick them... hehehe, I don't think he got a single one though ...
Back at Bundhaya ... 45 minutes later (it's usually a 10 minute walk) ... we get Corn back to his bungalow, Sanna back to her place and Bertus back to Ben... then Jen and me walk back to our places. Suddenly there is a loud crash, as if someone fell of a roof, so we run back to Bertus bungalow, but there is Ben and there is light, so he's save... that's when we go to sleep.
Seriously, I think I never saw anyone that drunk.

Snorkeling day...
We get up early to go snorkeling. I am really looking forward to it, but now the weather is not with us. The trip gets cancelled. So some people go back to bed and the rest of us, go straight to the bar and start the day with shotgunning beer...hehe...welcome to Thailand at about 9 am... :)
During the day there still is some snorkeling at the beach, some topless bikini-top-waving girls in the ocean having loads of fun, and some chilling at the beach with Ben and Bertus playing the guitar.
So basically the day turns out a lot of fun in another way than expected...
Lipe @ night – Britney Goggles up!
There is this girl in our group called Shannon. Most important things to know about her: She loves pink. She loves beer. AND she loves Britney Spears!
So this game called Chicken Goggles is pretty weird for all people not belonging to us already as we are making strange chicken sounds wearing "hand-made-glasses"... but as soon as every restart of the game starts with "Britney Goggles up!" all of us screaming "I love Britney Spears", I think that was when the last other people left that place... we had a really funny night though...

#MUSIC Schüttel dein Speck by Peter Fox
When we went back from the restaurant someone wanted me to sing some german. So I just started singing this song and it was so funny when some of the others started singing "Schüttel dein Speck" too, without knowing any german ... :) It pretty much means "Shake ur flab"
Lipe @ night – The other side of the beach, reggae bar and jam session at a restaurant
Tonight we are going for dinner at the beach at the other side of the island. Sounds far away, but as the island is not that big, it's a 10 minutes walk ... well, 20 minutes with 23 people, some of them already a little tipsy...
The other side of the island is even more quiet, so it kind of feels like we are the only people there. The restaurant is right at the beach and – again – it has a bunch of things to chose from. So our corner of the table makes the best decision you can make: Share the food. So everyone picks an order, and we all got to try it. So there is some curry stuff, some sweet and sour, some shrimp stuff and fish.
I do not like anything that comes out of the sea, but this way, I can at least try it here. Because usually fish tastes better in countries like this. So I peel my first shrimp ever out of his "skin" (I always wanted to do that :) ) I end up, still not wanting to eat a whole plate of fish or shrimp myself, but not feeling disgusted by it as I usually do. So that's my way of saying the sea-stuff is pretty good here. ;)
Some guys even eat the eye of the fish ... well ... that's gross ... even if it is said to be delicious ...
We are making our way back to Pattaya beach to go to a reggae bar. It's nice. Sitting on blankets right at the beach having some beer. Some others are having smokes...
At some point, I am getting hungry. So I decide to check on the minimart for chips. Tiff is joining in and as soon as we have them, we think of looking for our group leaders Ben and Bertus that we lost on our way back to our beach from the restaurant.
We find them at Pooh's Bar. But they are ready to leave. So we make our way back to the others "Bertus-style" ... which means to stop at pretty much every place where there are some locals hanging out, or drinking beer and especially when there are some instruments around.
I have to admit, one of the stops is Tiffs and my wish. In one bar there is some guy playing local songs on his guitar, so we jump in. And soon Ben and Bertus are holding the instruments in their hands... they are trying hard to make me play the violin they got here...
Tiff singing along with Ben and the guitar
Listening to Bertus playing with one of the locals
Finally I am giving up on rejecting even though I can not play one song out of my mind. But when I hear the first tunes from that pretty instrument it's awful...and I do not dare tuning it, as the strings are pretty rotten already. So I get out this time... :) But I am really amazed how the local guy does still play it along with the guitar. I would never dare. I mean, it still does not sound like it should, but somehow it is not that bad the way he is using it to play along... weird.
When we finally go back to the reggae bar, the last ones are leaving...

Finally jumping into the Ocean and celebrating Jenine's birthday
Yeahhhyy, as soon as I threw my stuff in my bungalow and had food at the restaurant, I run into the ocean...and wow...I totally forgot how warm it is over here...I looove it. I was looking forward to this very moment for soooo long. I could jump around in it screaming, but...well..I decide that this would look kind of insane...so I don't. :) But I enjoy this heart-jumpy-moment anyways.
We have a big group dinner at the Bundhaya restaurant as it is Jenine's birthday and then go on to Pooh's bar, which is like an 8 minute walk away. We have some drinks together, but as this was the big travel day everyone is quite exhausted. Anyways it is fun. I just went home, when I kept on falling asleep on those really comfy cushions ...

Koh Lipe Bundhaya Resort

Our Bundhaya Resort is right up the beach. It has a bunch of bungalows and we get ours almost all in a row in the back off the resort. The bungalows are great. They are boiling hot and smell a little like it does in caravans when we get in first, but I really like them. I love them even more, because (I have a single bungalow, but) here I can talk with the others through the walls, if I feel like it. ;) Has a little mini-mart, a great restaurant (the sweet and sour chicken is sooo yummy over here!!) and a bar with pool table. Really friendly staff and – so weird for a German – they lend parasol for free...?!? This would never happen in Germany...well...there is not that much sun...but if we had sun and a lot of tourist at the beach, people would at least charge 10 Euro (about 15 CAD, 475 Baht) for it. I mean they do already charge you for the beach in our country in most of the places...
